The Drifter 582 ultralight is a two-seat, wire-braced, taildragger aircraft. The Austflight Drifter is an extensively modified version of the original Maxair Drifter and since the early 1980s approximately 500 have been built.

The new Drifter for MSFS has been rebuilt with more polygons and detail to match the level of detail in the new simulator. The pilot position of the Drifter, out front and clear of the wings, provides unparalleled visibility and makes the Drifter the perfect aircraft to enjoy viewing the scenery in MSFS.

Demo

The free Demo version of the Drifter is a fully flyable and functioning aircraft - download it here (66MB).

The free demo has the following limitations compared to the full payware version:

  • No GPS, radio or tablet
  • No floats model
  • No passenger model
  • No Preferences options
  • No bottom fuel tank
  • Single repaint
Everything else is exactly the same as it is in the full version. The Demo should provide a good representation of the performance and frame rates you would get from the full version.


Paintkit

This paintkit is provided to users to assist with creating repaints for the Drifter. The download uses an installer, as this can produce a smaller download size than a Zip file. The files were created with Corel Paint Shop Pro but saved in the Photoshop format which most good paint programs should be able to handle.
