New passenger cabins for our MSFS 146 Professional coming soon

Custom-modelled for each 146 variant!
1 February 2024

Following on from the small teasers we have shown over the last few months, we are now ready to show off in greater detail the brand-new passenger cabins in our 146 Professional for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The passenger cabins feature a high-density 3+3 layout and are custom-modelled for each 146 variant, including the differences in seating layout at the rear of the aircraft due to the curvature of the fuselage, the miniature overhead bins on the seat rows immediately below the wing structure and the blanked-out windows that house air conditioning ducts.

The variant shown in the screenshots below is the 146-300, the longest variant in the 146 family, and we are now working on integrating the cabin into the 100 and 200 variants. The QC and QT freighter variants have not been forgotten and will also get the updated forward galley during this process.

As with our F28 Professional, we have gone all out with the functionality in the galleys. In the forward galley we have a fully functional attendants' panel above the R1 door which controls the cabin lighting and ground power; it also features several annunciators for cabin-related items such as seatbelt signs and door locks.

A panel on the vestibule controls the communications between the forward and aft galley, the passenger cabin and the cockpit, with each button and annunciator in the cabin and cockpit functioning just as it would in the real aircraft. A similar panel is also located in the rear galley which is likewise fully modelled and functional.

The vestibule also houses the controls for the cabin sound system. This DR4100 Digital Player was originally developed to be added to the cabin of our upcoming F70/F100 Professional but, as the model was already complete, we thought it would be a perfect opportunity to include it in the 146/RJ Professional cabins too. This digital player allows you to manually play music in the cabin and adjust the volume, or you can leave that up to the automatic cabin crew if that option is selected on the EFB. And yes, you can even import your own music!

Although all the door controls will be retained on the Aircraft page of the EFB, you no longer have to use them. Instead, you can open and close each of the doors by clicking on their handles, and even extend and retract the airstairs (remembering that you need yellow systems hydraulic pressure to retract them!).

Each of these cabins has been developed by our in-house development team to be both visually pleasing but with a minimal performance impact. For users who do not wish to have the cabin visible, the 'Interior Cabin' option has been retained on the EFB, allowing you to disable the cabin entirely.

The new cabins will be available free of charge to all existing owners of the 146 Professional on both PC and Xbox. We'll bring you more information on the release date for the cabins and the UNS-1 FMS at a later date.
