Following a successful period of high quality releases for MSFS and X-Plane, Just Flight is looking to expand its coding capacity to work on some exciting new projects that are due for release in 2027 and beyond. If you have experience in flight simulation coding and want to take your career to the next level, we’d love to hear from you and have a chat. This is what we’re looking for:
Key skills and experience
-
Previous experience developing aircraft instruments or avionics for MSFS, with examples of displays or functionality you have personally implemented.
-
Familiarity with MSFS instrument frameworks and libraries.
-
Strong JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS skills, particularly for interactive cockpit displays.
-
Ability to interpret aircraft manuals and reference material to reproduce display layouts, symbology, operating modes, and behaviour accurately.
-
Experience connecting cockpit displays and controls to aircraft systems and simulator data, including relevant simulator variables and events.
-
Confidence working with an existing codebase, diagnosing faults, and taking features through implementation, testing, and release.
-
Good software development practices, including readable, maintainable code, version control, and clear documentation.
Desirable additional experience
-
Experience with underlying navigation and guidance functionality would be particularly valuable – FMS/CDU development, including page logic, data entry, and flight-plan management.
-
C++/WASM development for custom instruments or aircraft systems.
-
Familiarity with XML model behaviours and aircraft configuration.
-
Debugging and performance optimisation of complex instruments and displays.
-
Experience delivering commercial aircraft products or contributing to established open-source flight simulation projects.
-
Project management experience, including planning development work, coordinating contributors, and managing testing feedback.
For the right candidate we can offer an employed or freelance contract (depending on location and personal situation) and a competitive salary or freelance payment package.
