6001/5001 error message during installation
If you receive an error message that mentions either -6001 or -5001 during the installation of a product or update, this is caused by the InstallShield system leaving some files behind during a previous installation of some other software.
Please download the ISClear tool here and run it. This should solve the problem and you will then be able to install correctly.
Using older non-Windows XP software in Windows XP
Q: When running some of my older Just Flight software under Windows XP that is not stated as being compatable with Windows XP I get errors such as "cannot load visual model" or pieces of the aircraft such as undercarrage will not appear.
A: The problem is that the program you are using was designed with Windows XP in mind due to its age. There is however a possible way that you may be able to use to enable the aircraft to work in Windows XP and 2000. There is available on various internet websites a freeware utility called: mdlrepair.zip and in many, but not all cases, will fix the error you are having.
The use of this utility is entirely at your own risk and Just Flight do not endorse or accept any responsibility for its use.
You will need to visit one of the sites, download and unzip the tool and carefully follow the instructions to attempt to effect the modification.
This tool is normally available from the following internet location:-

CD/DVD Emulation?
Q. I have just purchased British Airports East & South East from you & tried in vain to install it last night.
On installation everything went ok until I reached the "Just Validating" screen then a message appeared which read:
"CD/DVD emulation software has been detected. Please disable CD/DVD emulation and restart the game"
I deactivated all anti virus software etc, & tried again, but still got the message. I searched for CD/DVD emulation but found nothing.
My PC also does not have a DVD drive. I have in the past successfully installed British Airports single volumes but because this is a double issue, could this be a problem?
A.You have received this message because emulation software or a virtual drive has been detected on your machine.
Typical emulation software includes Daemon Tools, Clone CD and Alcohol 120.
In order to play your game you must disable the emulator from trying to circumvent Safedisc.
Below is a list of instructions for how to do this in Alcohol 120, Clone CD and Daemon Tools:
If Alcohol 120% is on the machine:
Start Alcohol and go to the Emulation Options.
Select 'Emulation' from the options tree. Uncheck the 'Ignore Media Types' box to turn off the media type emulation.
Select "Extra Emulation" from the options tree. Uncheck the "BAD Sectors Emulation" to turn off this type of emulation, exit Alcohol 120% and restart the game.
If CloneCD is on the machine:
Look on your task bar at the bottom right of your screen (next to the clock). Locate the CloneCD tray icon, which can be a picture of two CD-ROMs or of a sheep's head. Right Click on the icon and make sure "Hide CD-R media" is un-ticked. Restart the game application.
Daemon Tools:
Right Click on the Damon Tools icon in the Task Bar.
Select the Emulation tab.
Deselect Safedisc.
