CD/DVD Emulation Error
Error Message: Cannot Locate the CDROM. CD/DVD emulation software has been detected. Please disable all CD/DVD emulation software and restart the game.
You have received this message because emulation software or a virtual drive has been detected on your machine.
Typical emulation software includes Daemon Tools, Clone CD and Alcohol 120.
In order to play your game you must disable the emulator from trying to circumvent Safedisc.
Below is a list of instructions for how to do this in Alcohol 120, Clone CD and Daemon Tools:
If Alcohol 120% is on the machine:
Start Alcohol and go to the Emulation Options.
Select 'Emulation' from the options tree. Uncheck the 'Ignore Media Types' box to turn off the media type emulation.
Select "Extra Emulation" from the options tree. Uncheck the "BAD Sectors Emulation" to turn off this type of emulation, exit Alcohol 120% and restart the game.
If CloneCD is on the machine:
Look on your task bar at the bottom right of your screen (next to the clock). Locate the CloneCD tray icon, which can be a picture of two CD-ROMs or of a sheep's head. Right Click on the icon and make sure "Hide CD-R media" is un-ticked. Restart the game application.
Daemon Tools:
Right Click on the Damon Tools icon in the Task Bar.
Select the Emulation tab.
Deselect Safedisc.
After installing Service Pack 2/Acceleration I get odd windscreen, and instrument effects why?
Microsoft has now released a Service pack to update and enhance Flight Simulator X. This pack (usually referred to as SP2) is automatically installed with the FSX Acceleration expansion pack or it can be downloaded from the official Flight Simulator website and installed directly into FSX.
Please install the update for this title that is available below
My aircraft appears to have no textures/is appearing white
If you are running Windows Vista and have a DirectX 10 graphics card, Service Pack 2 installs a selectable preview mode to show how Flight Simulator will look when the DirectX 10 graphics system is fully enabled. It is likely that this will be fully functional in the next version of Flight Simulator. However, one side effect is that any aircraft that are not DX10-ready may be missing their textures. To resolve this you can simply untick the DX10 Preview in the Display Setting menu.
If you don’t see this option in the Display menu then you don’t have a DX10-ready PC and you won’t experience this side-effect

Updates
Flight Simulator X Update
This update makes the boxed version of F-117A Stealth Fighter compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Users of the Just Flight download version should re-download the F-117A Stealth Fighter installer again as this is now fully FSX Compatible.
1. INSTALLATION
Step 1 - Installing F-117A
This update requires that you already have installed F-117A into FSX.
Install Traffic F-117A.
The installer will try to detect the destination folder for the installation and the next Window will show the install folder.
This folder at the moment is your FS9 folder (if you have FS9 installed). In case you don't have FS9 installed you will get a message telling you that Flight Simulator has not been found.
In both cases click the "Browse" button and browse your hard disk for the FSX folder. When having chosen a default installation of FSX this will be C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X.
Select the folder, click OK, the above window will appear again, this time with the updated destination folder showing.
Click "Next" - the installation will start.
Step 2 - Installing the Update
Download F117AFSXUpdate.zip to a temporary location on your hard drive.
You will need the F-117A Stealth Fighter disk in the drive to run the update
Locate the file and double mouse click on it to start the update. Follow the on screen instructions.
